Will Writing

It is often said that the only way to avoid problems following your death is to "die poor, or plan ahead"!

Also, did you know, once all of your liabilities have been accounted for, such as loans and funeral expenses, all your remaining assets will not necessarily pass to your current spouse! Even worse, if you die single with no children, and in the absence of any surviving relations, your entire estate and possessions could end up being passed to the crown!!

Here at ACS Solicitors, we do not wish for our clients to pass away with little or no assets. We therefore provide a comprehensive Will writing department in order that your intentions may be carried out, thus avoiding stress, cost, and even a family feud.

Our specialist team aim to take the stress out of planning for the inevitable by adopting a considerate, yet professional approach. We are able to provide advice on a range of matters including on those couples who have their own individual assets or children from previous relationships, Inheritance Tax limitation, gifts to children along with more unusual requests.

Surprisingly, only three out of ten people have a will when they die. Don't allow yourself to become a statistic. Please contact our Will writing department today for further information.

If you are disabled, or find it difficult to attend our office, we can arrange to visit you if you wish.

When a person dies it is necessary for someone to deal with their estate by realising their assets, paying off any debts, and distributing what is left if accordance with the deceased's Will, if one has been made, or in accordance with the rules of Intestacy if there is no valid Will.

Enduring & Lasting Powers of Attonery

In later life, people often consider who will handle their financial affairs if they are no longer able to.

At ACS Solicitors, we are able to provide comprehensive advice on the legal process in which a 'donor' hands over to an 'attorney' the power to decide what is done with their financial assets and property. This can be formulated in a legal document called an enduring or Lasting Power of Attorney.

Our specialist department can provide independent legal advice as to the pro's and cons of executing an enduring or Lasting Power of Attorney, when it should come into force (whether immediately or in the event of mental incapacity), and help you decide who would be most suitable to act on your behalf.

We are also able to provide advice if you have been appointed Attorney, or are not happy with the way an attorney is carrying out their duties.

Please call us today for further information. Any initial consultation will be free of charge.

If you are disabled, or find it difficult to attend our office, we can arrange to visit you if you wish.

(Please note from the 1st October 2007, Enduring Powers of Attorney were replaced by Lasting Powers of Attorney enabling a Donor to choose a person or persons to make decisions regarding health and welfare as well as financial issues)
